Southside Massage Therapy

I acknowledge that Southside Massage Therapy operates on Treaty 6 territory, which is the traditional lands of Cree, Dene, Nakota Sioux, Saulteaux, Blackfoot and Métis people. Treaty 6 was signed by Cree, Assiniboine and Ojibwa leaders, and Crown representatives. 

I acknowledge the many First Nations, Métis and Inuit who have lived in and cared for these lands for generations. I am grateful for the traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders who are still with us today and those who have gone before us.  My ancestors emigrated here from Sweden, and I benefit from knowing my family history and enjoying cultural holidays and foods. I grieve for those who had that opportunity stolen from them.

I make this acknowledgement as an act of reconciliation and to express my gratitude to those whose territory I live and work on.  I respect the Treaties; I am educating myself about the harms of the past and present, and I applaud the resilience of the First Nations and Métis people.
